Personalised Print:

Our client, an international online retailer wanted to market a range of new products to its regular customers using previous purchase data. The available data included spend patterns, average spend value and items previously bought. Other considerations were that the customer base is located throughout the world and the retailer operates a number of different brands in different languages. Our brief was to provide a cost effect solution using our variable data facilities to drive retention and increase spend from existing customers.

The solution:

We manipulated their database to extract the appropriate information and then reformatted it so that variable texts, languages and multiple images could be selected, matched and coordinated to produce the driving element crucial to producing the personalised end product.

A personalised envelope containing a personalised card was sent at predetermined timings to 40,000 customers worldwide over a 12 month period. The envelope and card contained more than 20 variable fields including language, brand, barcode, shopping incentive and finish. The finishes made each mailing different and eye catching and included treatments such as lamination, scratch and sniff (for Valentines Day) and glow in the dark inks (for Halloween).

The results:

The results from the initial 12 months showed much improved response rates, in fact, as much as 22% and exceeded anticipated targets. The project is ongoing and is being rolled out to lapsed customers.

This arrangement has been in operation for a number of years and the shipping company has seen numerous benefits including:

  • All items are available for immediate call off ensuring the safe operation of
    its fleet
  • The service is very cost effective – the whole process from the printing of the item to the distribution process is set up to ensure best value for BP
  • Simplified logistics – the service runs very smoothly operating to a service level agreement alongside key targets
  • The vessels know where to get the items from and the shipping company can focus on its core business of transporting products safely around the globe.

Web to Print:

The client:

A global insurance group based in London

The brief:

Following a recent corporate rebrand, 400 new sets of business cards were required within a three day timescale.

The solution:

Using Redlin’s web to print service, the new business card template was uploaded to a customised web portal. Each employee then went into the portal and completed the details that they needed on their business cards. The system automatically generated a proof which the employee signed off. They then selected the volume from predefined levels and placed the order.

The results:

All 400 business cards were successfully ordered and despatched within the agreed timescales. In addition, the web to print service provided added value by simplifying the whole process for the customer and delivering what was required to each employee.
